WATCH! This project invited members from the Don Fisher Boys & Girls Clubs, located in the Fillmore District of San Francisco, to learn Capoeira from Artist-in-Residence, Jarrel “Chumbinho” Phillips.
Don Fisher youth explored the cultural traditions and values passed down through Capoeira and its relevance to their modern world, heritage and personal development. They participated in weekly classes, community performances and traditional ceremonies.
